Rubber Shop

Nothing says Naugatuck like the rubber shop.  Started in the 1870's as the India Rubber Glove Company and the Goodyear Metallic Shoe Company.  The "Rubber Shop" employed over 6,000 people in the 1960's.  The shops closed in the late 1970's.  The rubber industry defined Naugatuck.
